The Maker

A word from the designer and creator:

Jewellery has always held a profound meaning in my life and has an ability to transport me to a place or time. As a little girl I became completely devoted to collecting gemstones and crystals as I felt that they held such a rarefied, pure beauty which completely transfixed me. Over time, my fascination grew to include jewellery which incorporated my coveted stones. It was a natural step to start making my own.
.
In terms of influences, I am very drawn to the intricate details to be found in the natural world which I try to recreate in the studio. My jewellery aims to combine a certain classic British elegance with the chaotic elements of nature; shapes, colours and textures. Thrown into this mix are certain influences from my childhood in Thailand - the tropical forests in the rainy season, corals and crystal clear seas. Recent sources of inspiration include the texture and shape of bamboo, multicoloured pebbles on the shore in Dorset and the molten look of coals in my fireplace.
.
Each ring, pendant or earring in my personal collection holds a deep meaning to me and inspires a memory or a feeling I want to hold on to. Conscious of this, I design hierloom pieces which I hope will in time carry their own story, unique to the beholder.
.
I make all my designs in my studio in the Cotswolds and source all my beeswax from a local apiarist.
